"Collection 243" is the heir to the historic Brut Premier but from which, at the same time, it completely deviates, choosing to further enhance the characteristics of the terroir, since in this era, due to climate change, it is important to have a sustainable viticulture that respects living matter.

At the base there is the total upheaval of the blend which, from year to year, changes, according to the territories, to always give an excellent taste; 59% of the Collection is made up of the base vintage and a good 41% of reserve wines, carefully selected from the company archive: in the case of 243 (inspired by the number of vintages produced since the birth of the Maison), the grapes come, for a third each, from Vallée de la Marne, Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, territorial areas that become the undisputed protagonists! The wines of the vintage of the year, in this case 2018, are tasted parcel by parcel, to then be assembled according to a complex subdivision. Starting from the 2012 harvest, the maison began a Réserve Perpétuelle, enriched every year with the latest harvest and stored in steel tanks. Furthermore, 10% of the assembly of this champagne is made up of reserve wines aged in wood, which give it sweetness, softness, some smoky and slightly toasted notes.

With four years of aging on the lees and a Brut dosage, the Louis Roederer Collection is, as the name suggests, a veritable collection of reserve wines and soils.

In the glass it has a brilliant straw yellow color with bright golden reflections; the perlage is fine, delicate and continuous. The bouquet is rich and intense, notes of tropical, ripe yellow fruit, toasted almonds and hazelnut cream stand out, followed by pan brioche and vanilla custard. In the mouth it is fresh and deep, complex and with a remarkable aromatic complexity, with a long persistence.
