The maison was founded by Memmie Jacquesson in 1798 and immediately achieved great fame, so much so that in 1810 the company received the gold medal "for the beauty and richness of its cellars" from Napoleon. Adolphe, the son, continues to increase its success but then, on the death of his children, the company goes through a difficult phase, until 1954, when it is bought by the Chiquet family. Since 1988, the brothers Jean-Hervè and Laurent Chiquet have brought the maison back to previous levels, maintaining a limited production despite the ever-growing awards. Thirty-five hectares of cultivated vineyards, all in Grand Cru and Premier Cru, located on the hills of the Vallée de la Marne and in the Cote des Blancs. The cultivation principles that are observed are absolutely natural, to obtain an excellence of the grapes which translates into the excellence of the wines produced. The Jacquesson style is distinguished by respect for the peculiarities of the individual harvests: reserve wines are added only to accentuate the complexity, not to hide the nature of the reference year, which is indeed highlighted and emphasized in each individual Jacquesson Champagne.
